How to reach our venue

You can reach the VUB Health Campus in Jette easily by bike, bus, tram and car. By public transport, you can get to the centre of Brussels, the capital of Europe, in less than 20 minutes.

An overview of the different ways can be found via the directions below and on the multimodal access plan.

Taxi

Outside the arrival hall, public taxis are available and will bring you to your destination (16 km). Only agreed companies are allowed to operate from Brussels Airport. 

 

Ringtrambus

The Ringtrambus departs from platform D and runs on the route of line 820 between Brussels Airport and the UZ Brussels hospital in Jette, located just next to the VUB Health Campus.

The VUB Health Campus can be reached via the Ring R0. Take exit 9-Jette and merge onto Dikke-Beuklaan. From Dikke-Beuklaan, follow signalisation towards VUB onto Laarbeeklaan and take access 4 into the Brussels Health Campus. There are several car parks on the site.

Car parks
  • UZ Brussel: Car park 1 (P1), car park 2 (P2) and car park 3 (P3) of the UZ Brussel are paying car parks.

  • Bowling Stones – distance car park : Steenweg op Brussel 397, 1780 Wemmel. The car park of Bowling Stones is located at a distance of 1 km from the VUB Health Campus and can easily be reached by foot.

Low Emission Zone

The campus is located in the low emission zone (LEZ) of the Brussels Capital Region (BCR). If you come by car, check here whether your vehicle is allowed to drive in the LEZ. Your vehicle doesn’t meet the access criteria for the LEZ? Then you can buy a day pass. Vehicles registered abroad must register for the LEZ unless they are registered in the Netherlands.

The campus is well served by buses from De Lijn and MIVB. Tram 9 (MIVB) also has a stop at the campus. An overview of the stops can be found on the access plan.

Bus 13, 14, 88, 245, 810 and 820 all stop at UZ Brussels hospital in Jette, located just next to the VUB Health Campus.

To Jette station

Jette station is served by both intercity and suburban S-trains. From the station, you can reach the campus by a 20-minute green walk, a 10-minute bike ride (e.g., on a Villo! hire bike) or STIB buses 14 (towards Heysel) and 88 (towards UZ-VUB).

To Brussels North

STIB bus 14 will take you from Brussels North station to the campus in about 30 minutes.

To Brussels South

Take metro line 2 (toward Simonis) or metro line 6 (toward Koning Boudewijn) from Brussels South station to Simonis and change there to tram 9 (towards Koning Boudewijn) until the stop UZ Brussels.

To Vilvoorde

From Antwerp and Mechelen, you can get off the train in Vilvoorde and take the 820 De Lijn bus (to UZ Brussels).

The surroundings of the campus were completely redeveloped with great attention to pedestrians and cyclists. The authorities provided separated and wide bike lanes on Dikke-Beuklaan and Laarbeeklaan.

Choose your route

In Brussels, it’s easy to get around by bike. Plan your cycling route on bike.brussels or fietssnelwegen.be.

Cycling with Villo!

There is a Villo! station on Dikke-Beuklaan where you can you can rent a bike with a subscription or ticket and return it to another Villo! station of your choice.
Tip: the train station of Jette also has a Villo!-stand.
